Who We Are

The Crew Behind Your Deck

We build and repair decks for homeowners in Shoreline and the towns around it. If you're reading this, there's a good chance a board is soft, a railing moves when you lean on it, or the whole thing just looks tired next to the house. Most of the decks we get called out for were built fine years ago and just never got the maintenance they needed. Rain does more damage here than sun ever will.

We start underneath, at the joists and the ledger board, because that's where the real problems hide even when the surface boards look okay. If the framing is sound we resurface and reseal it, and if it's not, we replace what's failing before we touch a single board on top. That order matters, a deck that looks new but sits on soft joists is just a problem wearing paint.

One joist under our deck in Shoreline had gone soft near the stairs, and they found two more once they opened it up. Glad they didn't just patch the one spot I pointed at.

Deck Repair · Seattle, WA
Switched to composite after the cedar kept cupping every winter, over in Lynnwood. Delivery ran short a box of boards, but they waited instead of rushing the finish.

Composite Decking · Bellevue, WA
Pressure washed our whole deck in Shoreline before we'd even talked stain color. Looks better now than when the house was built.

Common Questions

Questions we get a lot

Questions people usually ask before booking a deck project.

Do you offer free estimates for deck work?
Deck installation, repair and replacement estimates are free and don't require any commitment. A site visit includes measurements and a written quote before any work gets scheduled.
Are you licensed and insured to build decks in Washington?
Deck construction in Washington state requires a contractor license, along with general liability insurance. Proof of both is available on request before a deck project starts.
How soon can you start a deck project?
Scheduling for deck installation depends on the season, with spring and early summer typically the busiest stretch. Smaller deck repairs can often be scheduled within a week or two, while a full deck build usually requires more lead time.
What areas do you cover for deck building?
Deck installation and repair services cover Shoreline, WA and the surrounding towns, including Seattle, Edmonds, Lynnwood and Kirkland. Addresses outside that general range are worth a call to confirm.
Do you work on decks for condos or rental properties, not just single-family homes?
Deck construction and repair apply to single-family homes, rental properties and small multi-unit buildings alike. Rental jobs sometimes involve extra coordination with tenants or property managers.
Will you take on a small job, like replacing a few boards or fixing one railing post?
Small deck repairs, including a few boards or a single loose railing post, don't require a full rebuild to get fixed. Not every deck problem means the whole structure has to be replaced.
How do I get started if I want a quote?
A phone call or message describing the deck issue, whether it's new construction, a repair or a refinish, is enough to schedule a site visit. A written quote typically follows within a few days of that visit.
What does a new deck typically cost?
Deck cost depends mainly on square footage, decking material and how much structural framing is required. Composite decking runs higher upfront than pressure-treated pine, and multi-level designs or built-in seating add to labor time.
Do you require a deposit before starting work?
A deposit is standard before ordering material and scheduling a crew for deck construction, with the remaining balance due at completion. The exact amount gets spelled out in the written quote.
What happens if it rains during my deck project?
Deck framing and structural work can often continue through light rain, but staining, sealing and pouring concrete footings require dry conditions. Schedules typically shift around the forecast rather than rushing through weather that would ruin the finish.
